Everybody needs a good beta.

I normally delete everything that comes through my school's mailing list (unless it's a job posting, in which case I open it, contemplate how long it will be before I'll be qualified for said position and how little I want to move to Missouri, and then delete it) but I happened to read this one, which says, basically, that academic departments in the Humanities need to be more like fandom the sciences fandom.
