I don't get sick often enough to remember: is yellow snot cause for concern, or only green?

And if I decided that, after six years, I were prepared to start experimenting with over-the-counter cold rememdies again, what would you recommend to make my sinuses stop CRUSHING MY BRAIN? Anything that causes fewer medicine-head symptoms is better, because that's why it's been six years in the first place. But it's also getting to the point where I'm willing to spend a few days in a stupor if that's what it takes, because ow ow ow ow.

So, three hours ten minutes into my OTC cold remedy experiment, I'm feeling pretty good.

The test substance was a half dose of DayQuil (I might have tried Sudafed, but it was behind the counter and I couldn't trouble myself to speak to someone; or Tylenol Sinus, if I had not been scarred for life by a story [livejournal.com profile] iuliamentis told me once about taking Tylenol Sinus until it dried out her sinus so much that they CRACKED AND BLED.) ingested (with lots of water and, um, "fruit juice") at 3:37. I didn't notice any noticeable effects, desired or otherwise, before I started feeling like taking a nap at 4:30. Felt a little better at 5:30, then actually fell asleep and woke up just now feeling really quite improved. So I think I'll try another half-dose and maybe some solid food and, uh, "fruit juice."

You should probably try to imagine, if you don't ineradicably know better, that the "fruit juice" comes primarily from actual fruit. It'll make you feel better.
