how to be wide awake!

6:41 - alarm goes off, hit snooze, hide in pillow.

6:50 - alarm goes off, hit snooze, pull laptop into bed, hit power button.

6:51 - horrifying pre-boot error message indicating that your computer does not recognize the AC Adapter.

6:51:15 - squirm around computer to hang off side of bed and sort through tangle of cords to ascertain that, no, you did not somehow plug your computer into the external hard drive's power source.

6:52 - read error message again, discover instruction to 'reseat AC adapter' which you suspect means 'jiggle it and try again.'

6:52:30 - jiggle it and try again.

6:53 - computer boots up!

6:53:15 - computer displays message from the desktop post-it program you use to run your entire LIFE, informing you that it is time to pay for the program or it will go away now.

6:54 - frantically enter billing information, adjusting PayPal options for fastest payment.

6:55 - wait. check mail.

6:56 - receive registration code! enter code, resume breathing as all your notes reappear on the desktop.

See? Wiiiiiide awake, although also going through the day with a vague sense of dread that is not quite alleviated by remembering that the Red Wings clinched the Conference Semi-Finals last night (YAY!) which means that they will be playing Game 4 against Anaheim on Thursday, May 17, at 9pm EST.

...the same time as the Supernatural season finale.

So if I completely disappear from the internets for 24 hours or so next week, that's why.
