I don't know if this is an unanswerable question, or a stupid question, or a request for recs, but:

Do you think it's possible to have a story that has narrative tension but does not include anyone dreading anything? I keep flipping back and forth between thinking that the answer is self-evidently yes and self-evidently no.

(So, to be clear, I am talking about a story with a full plot arc, here, conflict and resolution, and not a PWP or vignette or such, because obviously those can have a single mood which is not dread and into which dread never enters. And obviously in a story with a full plot arc dread may not be - probably usually won't be, unless you're writing suspense/horror - the dominant emotion of the narrative, but I am talking about a story which does not feature any significant character dreading anything. Um. Anybody? Thoughts?)
