b) Sometime while I was living and working in DC (so between March 2006 and July 2008) somebody posted (or at least, I got linked to the post then, probably on livejournal, probably somehow connected to fandom) a post on what it's actually like to be an introvert, with a slant on explaining them to extroverts. (I seem to remember strangecobwebs and I agreeing, at the time, that it would help textualchauvini understand why we wanted to hang out with her far less often than she wanted to hang out with us. *g*)

I was thinking of it today because I got linked to this article and was expecting to find that post at the other end of the link. The Atlantic article, by contrast, was somehow grating, and I don't know why exactly (I think I'm getting sick and definitely have a headache, and so am perhaps easily grated in any case) and I can't find the post I'm thinking of to compare it to.

Totally authoritative observations/opinions based solely on the first episode:

Demons is my favorite nationality-swapped, gender-swapped Buffy ripoff ever. Rupert (HIS NAME IS RUPERT, YOU GUYS. HIS NAME IS ACTUALLY RUPERT.) is the mysterious American godfather who suddenly appears in Luke's life when he's eighteen to inform him of his AWESOME DEMON-FIGHTING DESTINY as the scion of the Van Helsings. Ruby is Luke's best friend since nursery school (who is, of course, in love with him). Mina (Harker, yes) is the hereditary archivist to the Van Helsing line. RUPERT HAS A RAY GUN AND GETS KNOCKED DOWN A LOT.

Philip Glenister + Adorable American accent + RAY GUN = SERIOUSLY HOW DID I HAVE TO HEAR ABOUT THIS SHOW FROM FANDOMSECRETS.

I would like to see some Rupert/Ruby now. Also Rupert/Mina. Also Rupert/Luke. Also Luke/Mina. Also Rupert/Luke/Mina. And Rupert/Luke/Ruby. And while it is not my bag personally, I feel that there ought to be Ruby/Mina in the world, generally speaking. And. Um. Rupert/Mr. J. V-H., obvs. And. Yes.*
