Totally straight face.
May. 20th, 2010 12:56 pmToday and Tuesday I participated in a boring training thing for faculty at work upon which I will not elaborate further except to say that I WIN, OKAY, because as it turns out the thing we are training on necessitates special handling of courses that are listed as both undergraduate and graduate courses with different numbers.
Naturally, because these classes occur frequently, faculty have evolved a shorthand term for them which they all use, probably derived from the punctuation with which they are indicated.
So today I was sitting next to a lovely professor old enough to be my mother and she fiddled around with the software for a while and then said, "Now what do I do about slash courses?"
And I did not even laugh.
