Vorkosigan Fic: Hold the Line
Nov. 1st, 2010 07:30 amI don't know if I have mentioned this, but I have the same sleep problems as a small child: I only get insomnia when I'm excited about something.
Apparently I am excited about posting this story. So without (much) further ado: story.
In Brothers in Arms, Miles tells Mark about the time his grandfather tried to kill him when he was an infant, and Bothari stopped Count Vorkosigan from doing so. Miles says that he learned this story from his grandfather, and that after that attempt, "They had an understanding."
I found myself thinking that Bothari cannot have been the only person involved in making the General understand.
Many many thanks to
iulia and
oliviacirce for loving this story, and to
fairestcat for discouraging me from cramming my thoughts on this topic into another story where they really did not belong.
Aral, Cordelia, Piotr. Gen. pre-Barrayar epilogue. 4700 words.
Content notes: Canonical attempted infanticide, Barrayarans Being Barrayarans, incongruous cuteness.
Bothari brought Miles to them at lunchtime and reported that he had intercepted the General at the side of Miles's cradle.
