right then.
Nov. 7th, 2010 03:22 pmSo--as I have mentioned before, I'm sure--I've been reading the Vorkosigan books since I was twelve. If not a part of what you would technically call my childhood, they were certainly an essential part of my youth, the whole last third of the time I was a minor in my parents' home. And now, after all these years, here I am writing slash porn about Aral Vorkosigan, who was, as a bit of arithmetic tells me, in his eighties during CryoBurn.
So just now I woke up from a nap, from an upsetting dream where one of my eighty-something great-uncles [a vague mashup of two of my actual great-uncles] had been forced by circumstances to come and live with my parents in the house where I grew up, and it had come out somewhere during this process that he was gay, and he seemed to be made very anxious by the way people kept repeating that fact casually in his earshot, and my parents were disposing of a bunch of childhood things still cherished by me and my brothers to make room for great-uncle's things.
OKAY, SUBCONSCIOUS. I GET IT. WE ARE NOT SURE ABOUT ALL OF THIS.
YOU DIDN'T REALLY NEED TO ADD ALL THOSE SPIDERS AT THE END, THAT WAS JUST MEAN.
