Awwwww boys ilu
Jul. 1st, 2012 10:16 pmToday I introduced my most local of local fangirls,
renenet, to Generation Kill. I'd taken the precaution of assigning homework for our marathon, i.e. having her read the TWOP recap of the first episode, so she'd have some chance of following the action and knowing who people were, and we still did some pausing and stuff, and an excellent time was had by all. Especially since she is a right-thinking person and agrees with me about the non-stop awesomeness that is Nate Fick. ♥
I was surprised though--this morning, gearing up to watch the whole miniseries, I was kind of bracing myself. It's a lot of unhappiness and futility and various shades of awfulness to spend your entire day on (though as I type that I think, well, that's a lot less time than these guys put into all that futility and awfulness: still. As a hobby, it is, you know. Questionable.)
Anyway: I was surprised. Because through the entire first two episodes I was just nonstop BEAMING AT THE SCREEN and occasionally making heart-hands, because I just. love them. so much. And apparently I had missed them since the last time I watched. So maybe I shouldn't go another six months before I watch again.
(Also also more than ever I was watching and thinking about where everyone's wolves were at any given moment and how things are playing out with X and Y given situation Z and so on. So, uh, now I should get tonight's writing in. Time for horrible things to happen to Nate!)
