iulia's celebrating her birthday, and we'd agreed a while back to watch North & South at this juncture because Richard Armitage. Wikipedia informed me that his performance had been compared to Colin Firth's Mr. Darcy; otoh I had the vague impression from Tumblr or something that it was kind of grim.
