Have I mentioned lately how happy I am in MCU fandom? Even more than in Teen Wolf, I feel like I am properly in the fandom, connecting with people, and that my writing is coming out of this place of play--of my last five stories before this one (all MCU), three came directly out of conversations with [tumblr.com profile] stoatsandwich, one was for [personal profile] sholio's prompt at [personal profile] such_heights's kiss meme, and one was an exchange fic. I've spent a lot of time in fandoms where I felt like I was just kind of laboring away in my little cave, writing stories and then bringing them outside to present to people before I went back into the cave to write another one, so I am just really relishing the much more social experience that MCU fandom is for me now. :D

Which is a very cheerful way of introducing a deeply uncheerful story. This is a direct reply to [tumblr.com profile] feanorinleatherpants's fanart of St. James the Compatriot, patron saint of prisoners of war and lost persons.

This is a story about Bucky being very much lost. And about prayer, and what is left when prayer is lost.
