Went to the mall this morning (well, that's an hour of my life I'm never going to get back). But a stop into Hot Topic was, as always, at least good for some amusement.

They had a t-shirt with punk-circle-A-thing (where did that come from, anyway, does anyone know? I'm feeling very young and bourgeois...) and the question "Are you a real punk?" followed by several clarifying questions.

Have you ever had to beg for money for dinner?

Have you ever thrown up while making out?

Do you own more than two pairs of jeans?

Are your clothes held together with saftey pins?

Do you own a Ramones album on vinyl?

Can people smell you before they can see you?

Have you ever had to "F Shit Up"(sic) for no reason?

Have you ever held a job for less than a day?

Do you own more than three pairs of shoes?

Have you ever been kicked out of your parents' house?

I didn't check, but I sincerely hope that the entire back side of the shirt is occupied with the most vital question: DID YOU PAY MOMMY'S MONEY FOR THIS SHIRT AT HOT FUCKING TOPIC, YOU LITTLE POSER?

I mean. Honestly. The whole shirt is an irony bomb.

This is one of those crack-brained holdovers from when I was working the night shift - victim of overexposure to fluorescent lights and a wonky sleep cycle - kicked back to the front of my brain by today's Lesson in Punk at Hot Topic.
