Also, after poking through several screencaps and bugging daveamongus for expert analysis, have determined that the gun Don carries is pretty definitely not the FBI-standard Smith & Wesson 1076/NMS, but may be a Glock and is, regardless, closer to correct than what David Boreanaz is toting over on his show.

Anyone else care to weigh in with the gun fu?

ETA, courtesy of teneagles and pro_f_iler's gun fu: Probably a Glock 22, which is the new standard FBI weapon. And according to a tripod.com cite with 'conspiracy' in the domain name (which my library fu tells me not to cite, but, hey, I haven't had breakfast or put in my contacts yet, so let's be sloppy): ( The FBI changes standard sidearms like I change fandoms. )

So apparently the Smith & Wesson 1076, the Sig Sauer 9mm (YAY SCULLY! ahem.), and Don's Glock 22 were all "FBI Standard" within a relatively short span of time and are all acceptable to the FBI.

This still does not explain why I don't have an icon of Don's tight jeans holstered gun.

Time is allegedly the thing that keeps everything from happening at once.

But it is doing a SHITTY JOB as concerns Friday, December 9.

1. Brokeback Mountain premieres on Friday, December 9! There will be traveling and mass fangirlage and it will be VERY YAY!

2. The Detroit Red Wings are making their ONE AND ONLY visit to Washington, DC, probably for at least the next three years, to play the Washington Capitals on Friday, December 9. Hey! I'm in Washington! The MCI Center is right down the green line! YOU CAN GET CAPS TICKETS FOR TEN DOLLARS, AND I MEAN LEGALLY RIGHT FROM THE TICKET OFFICE. But! I am probably going to be somewhere else, like, say, New York, that night. So, okay, I will make it to other hockey games. Maybe I will tape that one. It'll probably be a rout anyway.

3. The USA Network, because it loves us and wants us to be happy (if a little bit crazed) is airing a brand-new holiday-themed episode of The Dead Zone at 10pm on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9. Okay, so there's no way I'm going to be home for that, but I'll tape it on my trusty VCR! And I can try taping the game on Roomie's deeply unreliable TV/VCR combo out in the living room, and I'll just ... hope nothing goes wrong while I'm in another state.

4. Oh, wait, aren't I usually doing something on Fridays at 10pm? OH YEAH. NUMB3RS. So help me God, if there's a first-run Numb3rs episode scheduled on Friday, December Fucking Ninth, (and why wouldn't there be? It's the HAPPENINGEST DATE IN MEDIA HISTORY!) I will cry. Or buy another VCR.
